The coworking space is a tire factory turned coworking space with a thriving community built in 2020 — innovation and creativity are the core of how we started.

1956
Dominion Tire Factory Expands
The Dominion Tire Company plant (est. 1914) constructs a storage warehouse next door to the factory. This is to be the future home of Catalyst137.
1992
Tire Plant Officially Closes
After being acquired by Michelin North America in 1990, the Kitchener plant is shut down after 78 years of tire production.
2016
Catalyst 137 Construction Begins
Local tech entrepreneurs make their plans public for transforming the empty warehouse space into Catalyst137 and construction begins.
2019
Our Idea is Born
Catalyst Commons unfolds—a visionary coworking hub uniting KW entrepreneurs. Local investors endorse, sparking plans for a dynamic community space
2020
Catalyst Commons Opens!
In November 2020, amid a global pandemic, Catalyst Commons opens its doors. Quickly evolving into a growing community of supporters, it becomes a thriving hub where companies grow and succeed through collaboration.”
2024
We Expanded!
In Fall 2024, Catalyst Commons opened our newest expansion, adding 75,000 sq/ft to the existing property! Introducing Suites for companies up to 100 people and offering numerous small office options for startups and growing teams

Here at Catalyst Commons we understand that your furry companions are not just pets—they’re valued members of your work-life balance. That’s why we proudly welcome dogs into our workspace, creating a vibrant and inclusive environment where everyone feels at home.

Please check in with our team and our dog policy before bringing your dog in.

Pet Requirements:

  • Please keep your dog on leash in all common areas.
  • Up to date on vaccinations required
  • Your dog needs to be obedient, well-socialized and with no history of aggressive behaviour
  • Barking or other disturbances are not tolerated
  • Accidents happen! If one occurs, please clean it up promptly. Supplies
    are available at Reception from any of your friendly Community Team.
