The Common Good Project & The KWSP Humane Society

At Catalyst Commons, we’ve always believed our community is about more than just great workspaces, it’s about how we can grow together.

That’s why we’re thrilled to officially launch The Common Good Project, our new initiative that channels the energy, creativity, and generosity of Commons members into supporting the region we call home.

Each year, we’ll partner with a local not-for-profit whose mission resonates with our values and is in need of our help. Together, we’ll rally around their cause through fundraising, awareness, connections, and hands-on involvement.

We’re proud to announce our very first partner:
the Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth Humane Society.

As we kick off this partnership, we want to shine a light on the incredible work the Humane Society is doing in our community. Caring for animals takes space, medical treatment, nourishing food, enrichment, and compassionate hands. Right now, they’re delivering these vital services out of spaces not designed for the scale of need. That’s why they’ve launched the Better Together Capital Campaign—a $6 million project to build a new Community Outreach Centre in Kitchener.

This bright, welcoming space will offer:
  • Triple the room for community programs like training, camps, and education
  • A dedicated Pet Pantry to meet the surging demand for food and supplies
  • A permanent donation centre to organize community support
Spaces for volunteers and staff who power our mission and make our work possible
  • A garage for a future mobile outreach vehicle, extending care across the region

Every donation—large or small—helps provide food, shelter, love, and hope for pets with nowhere else to go.
